Here, a large mount of natural snow will already be prepared for you. With guidance from your local guide, you’ll learn how to transform it into a real snow igloo. Dig and shape the interior, carefully forming the walls and creating your own entrance, sleeping area and even a sofa. Every igloo develops its own character, and by the end of the day, your very own snow igloo will be ready for you to spend the night in.

Building takes time, and that is part of the experience. During the activity, we’ll take a proper break to enjoy a light lunch and hot beverages before continuing with your igloo.

Once your snow igloo is ready, head inside Kätkävaara Wilderness Lodge for a warm and relaxing evening. A buffet dinner will be served at the lodge, giving you plenty of time to recharge after your day outdoors. Sauna and shower facilities are available in the main building, so you can warm up and get comfortable before preparing for the night.

Set in a remote location away from city lights, Kätkävaara offers excellent conditions for observing the Arctic sky. If conditions are right, you may even have the chance to see the Northern Lights above your snow igloo. An unforgettable way to spend a night in the Lapland wilderness.

When it is time to sleep, return to your own snow igloo for the most memorable part of the experience. Sleeping bags are provided for your overnight stay.

We will also reserve a warm indoor room for you at the Lodge throughout the night. If at any point you prefer to sleep indoors, you can simply move to your reserved room and continue the night in warmth and comfort.

In the morning, enjoy breakfast at Kätkävaara Wilderness Lodge before your return journey to Rovaniemi.
